Installing IBM Information server Fix Pack  in Linux and Windows
To install IA fix we need to update installer
Installing a new version of the Update Installer before installing an update or fix
To install a new version of the Update Installer on an installation instance:
1. Download the latest version of the Update Installer at http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24024048.
2. Extract the contents of the file into a temporary directory.
3. Complete the steps for your operating system:

Operating system
Linux, UNIX

a. Change to the temporary directory where you extracted the contents of the latest version of the Update Installer.
b. Run updateImage.sh.

Microsoft Windows

c. Change to the temporary directory where you extracted the contents of the latest version of the Update Installer.
d. Run updateImage.bat.
4. When prompted, enter the path of the installation instance directory.

Linux, UNIX: /opt/IBM/InformationServer/_uninstall
Windows: C:\IBM\InformationServer\_uninstall

After the script runs successfully, the installation instance is updated with the new version of the Update Installer.
Troubleshooting: Manually replacing files on the installation instance
If the script fails to run successfully, manually replace the files. Replacing the files manually accomplishes the same goal as using the script.
To manually replace the files on the installation instance, complete the steps for your operating system:

Operating system
Linux, UNIX
Change to the temporary directory where you extracted the contents of the latest version of the Update Installer.
2. Enter cp -rf * /opt/IBM/InformationServer/_uninstall

Windows

Change to the temporary directory where you extracted the contents of the latest version of the Update Installer.
2. Enter xcopy /e /y * C:\IBM\InformationServer\_uninstall.
After you replace the files from the temporary directory to the is-suite directory, the installation instance is updated with the new version of the Update Installer.

Start the installation
Windows (All tiers)

#Log in as a user with administrator privileges to install update packages. Use the same user name that you used to install IBM InfoSphere Information Server to ensure that you have the correct privileges.
#Open a command prompt window.
Windows Vista, Windows 2008, and Windows 7 must open an elevated command window. To install update packages, you must use a command window that is elevated to full administrative privileges.
i. Click the Start menu.
ii. Enter cmd.exe in the Start Search box.
iii. Press Ctrl+Shift+Enter.
iv. Click Continue to accept the prompt asking for your permission to continue.
# In the command prompt window, type the following command to start the Update Installer program in the C:\IBM\InformationServer\Updates\bin directory:
 Graphical (wizard) mode:
installUpdates.exe
Note: Graphical mode opens a web browser. Follow the instructions in the installation wizard to complete the installation.

Linux and UNIX

# Log in as the root user. If you log in with another account and sudo to root, the root privileges must not be restricted.
#Set the file creation mask to 022. Type the following command:
umask 022
# Set the open file descriptor to 10240 or higher. Type the following command:
ulimit -n 10240
# (All tiers) In the command prompt window, type the following command to start the Update Installer program in the /opt/IBM/InformationServer/Updates/bin directory:
Graphical (wizard) mode:
./installUpdates
Note: Graphical mode displays two installation URLs (HTTP and HTTPS). Use the HTTPS URL for a secure graphical mode installation. To use graphical mode to install update packages, enter this installation URL in a supported web browser. Follow the installation wizard instructions to complete the installation.
#This steps are as same as for Client Fix installation

#After Installing fix update both server and All client Machine
